About Nick

Nick is Vice President of Product and Strategy here at Automata, maintaining our deep tech ethos and overseeing the strategic direction of our product.

Keeping his ear to the ground and staying abreast of the latest developments in technology and tools available to scientists, Nick ensures our customer’s needs are always at the heart of Automata pushing the product, engineering and design teams to innovate alongside developing beautiful, functional automation solutions.

Nick has been with Automata since the early days, but prior to joining was a lead consultant at Newton Europe, working on everything from the design of nuclear submarines to architecting big data analytics tools.

He has a Masters in Engineering from University of Oxford, and has secured several academic honours including the Gibbs ‘proxime accessit’ Award, Head of Department Prize, Luddington Prize, and the Sir William Siemens medal for his exceptional achievements in his engineering studies.

Nick gets a kick from adrenaline sports like kitesurfing but when he is not on the water he loves playing tennis and spending time with friends and family around some delicious food

The most exciting part of working at Automata is…

…throughout my 5 years at Automata, the biggest challenge we are working through as a team has changed every 6 months. That sense of progress and novelty is intoxicating for passionate problem solvers.
