About Michael
Mike is Global Head of Presales here at Automata, having been with the company since 2022. He’s based in our US office, and his background in the life sciences and liquid handling/ laboratory automation makes him the perfect person to ensure customers in the US and beyond have the right best in class solution to fit their needs.
He’s a self-confessed molecular biologist turned roboticist with over 10 years of experience in the field of liquid handling and robotics specialising in genomics, NGS, diagnostics, and molecular oncology.
After graduating from Hofstra University with a degree in Biology, Mike went on to gain a Masters in Molecular Biology and has held several in-lab roles, notably working at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre and BioReference Laboratories. He continued to hone and put that molecular diagnostics experience to work at scale with notable automation vendors such as Tecan, Opentrons Labworks, and now Automata.
When he’s not immersed in the world of application sciences and solutions, Mike is an avid craftsman and can always be found building – sometimes in his woodshop, gazing through his telescope, or sometimes just building Lego with his family.
